Ellis County Burn Ban is:

Welcome to Ellis County

Emergency Services District No. 1

An Emergency Services District (ESD) is a local government agency created by a vote of the public to provide fire protection and/or emergency medical services (EMS) in specific areas in unincorporated Ellis County. There are more than 310 ESDs in Texas, 9 of which are in Ellis County. The governing statute for an ESD is Chapter 775 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. An ESD collects taxes based on appraisals of real and personal property and usually contracts with a service provider but can also be a direct service provider like Ellis County ESD 1.

"ELLIS COUNTY ESD NO.1 ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISEE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THANT LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 62.95 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ONA $100.000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $38.63."

In order to stay prepared, the MayPearl fire department must continually train for anything. The cars that you see out front of the fire station will be used for departmental extrication training. That's right, we are going to use our extrication tools to "cut up" these cars as we train to rescue possible entrapped individuals. If you're curious about how we rescue these individuals, then we invite you to the station to watch your fire fighters in action and see how we stay ready to assist the community. Once a date and time are set, we will let the community know.

On May 30th at 6:00pm, Midlothian Scout Troop 512 will be hosting a flag retirement ceremony at the Chamber of Commerce Depot in Maypearl. If you have any worn, tattered, or old flags please bring them to the Maypearl fire station before then and we will see that our local troop gets them.
